rain rain rain.

well i am sitting in a cafe and writing this as it is raining outside. of course it's raining it's london, but this is only the second day it has rained since i got here. it has been warm and sunny for the past two weeks. i have gone for walk along a cannal, gone to markets, gotten ridiculously lost ridding though the streets. it has been fantastic.

i have a trial at a cafe tomorrow and hopefully i will get the job. you have to trial here before you can get a job. it is like working a mini shift about 3 hours and that way you can see if you like the job and if they like you. the cafe is in a market right under london bridge and has all fresh foods and neat shops.

also i taught the polish boy who live in the squat what the word neat meant. it was funny.

the room i am staying in. also i sometimes sleep in one the the other rooms there. one of the kids who lives there works teo 24 hour shifts so when he's not hime i sleep in his bed.

the living situations

so i was ataying at my friend jeremey's but i had to leave there when all his flatmates got back. i stayed there for about 5 days. now, as of last night i am staying at a squat house with some people i have met. they all ride bikes and a few are messengers. they have been living at this house for about 5 months. i guess they only really pay for electricity. apparently they took down the wood covering the doors and windows and moved in. all the neighbors know that it is a squat house but none of them really care.

it actually is a really nice palce. there areq quite a few people who are living in different squats. if i can figure out a way to only live in sqauts the whole itme i am here. then it would be easy to save money for whne i come back home. i'll post some pictures later and show what it looks like. also i am going to be sending a lot of post card out soon. yey...

london yo

my plane!!! zoom zoom zoom!it had only been about 8 hours on the plane. this was on the train that took us to the underground. kinda like the metra. alexis and i took up so much space in the train with all our shit.
on the london bridge. boring. there is a famous double decker bus.

so far so good. the flight was long and i am glad i don;'t have to worry about flying again for another 5 months. I had to drag a bike box from heathrow to london proper, which was a bitch, and i got to take the undergound.  i have mainly been riding around london trying not to get killed and seeing some neat things along the way. Buckingham Palace is quite boring and so is the london bridge... big ben is really neat and there is some great art around here. i am still looking for a job and a more permanent house. a lot of people i met live in squats and such so i think i will be fine. i have been hanging out at a cool pub called the foundry where all the messengers hang out. and tonight i am going to the oldest pub in london to have some drinks. it should be fun. i met a guy who does lots of movies and his friend is the editor for a new Russell crowe film. he said he might be able to help me out.

going away party part 1

so i kinda somehow ended up with two going away parties. here are a couple of pictures from the first. this one was at val's house about a week before i left. there were a ridiculous number of people there. we set a new record for how many people fit on the roof.  if you want to see more of the pictures check out my flickr. 

some of you want to know what is going on in my life, so here it starts:

well i am leaving in about 8 days for London. i have had some people express interest in me letting them know how i am doing so i am going to keep you all up to date through this. or at least i hope that i will. i am bad at doing these kinds of things. i have had my going away party and want to post some pictures form that soon and stuff. i advise you to keep and eye on this blog, my myspace (www. myspace.com/braleyboles) and my flickr(www.flickr.com/braleyboles).
